Sensory-Motor Handwriting Group 4 Week Program  Our Sensory-Motor Handwriting Group Program takes place over the course of 4 weeks cycles once a week in a group up to 2-6 children.  Our classes are taught at a gradual pace in an effort to provide the support your child may need to develop the foundation for handwriting which should not be rushed! Children begin this program on various writing levels and learn at their own pace. If more support is required, we work with the parent to provide support and guidance. The handwriting group is for ages 4-7 who need continued exposure to letter and number formations. Requirements for maximum benefit from the group are as follows: Child Must Be able to: Follow simple 2-step instructions Tolerate physical activities Sustain sitting for at least 15-20 minutes with less than 2 verbal cues work in small group up to 2-6 children We will begin: Pre-Writing - to target color, trace, draw symbols (i.e. shapes)  -Capital letters introduced Handwriting - upper and lowercase letters in proper formation - Developmentally advance to writing words/sentences This program Incorporates sensory-motor activities to: - facilitate attention/focus - decrease impulsiveness - improve strength and coordination This program Incorporates the senses of the body for: - body awareness - spatial awareness - motor sequencing  The focus is to promote:  - Good handwriting habits Develop foundation for writing skills  Implement combining lines and curves to form letters, numbers, and basic geometrical shapes - Implement tracing, copying and coloring skills. - Incorporate proper letter formation, spacing and size of letters What is your cancellation policy for HANDWRITING GROUP? Your registration for the group is complete when payment in full is made by cash or credit card. Cancellations at least 4 weeks prior to the group's start date will be refunded Cancellations at least 2 weeks in advance will be refunded 50%. There will be no refunds within 2 weeks of your group's start date.  Rescheduling to another session depends on availability. If your child misses one day of a session that they are enrolled in, we do not offer make-up times due to limited availability. If the class is canceled due to weather or personal reasons you will be refunded for that class or it can be used as a credit towards the next 4 week session.
